Mulkanuru

The village Mulkanuru in Bheemdevarpalli Mandal is on the way from Huzurabad to Husunabad. There is an old templein Kummarivada dedicated to Siva. It consists of garbhagriha,antarala and a sixteen-pillared mandapa.

The temple faces theeast. There are a few old sculptures of Ganapati and femaledeities. The Goddesses hold Trisula and Damaru in upper handswhile they hold Khadga and bowl in lower hands. This placewas also a centre of Jain worship.

An unfinished Jain imageseated in dhyanamudra is shifted from this place to theKarimnagar museum. This image is now placed on a pedestal in the courtyard of the museum. The image is in black granite and the face is left unfinished.

Mulkanuru is popular today for the successful functioning of the Co-operative Bank extending its services to the villagersfrom many years.
