Jammikunta was an erest while Taluk of Sarkar Elagandul district in the Warangal division of the Hyderabad state. It was Taluk head quarters up to 1913 A.D. In the year 1913 the head quarters of taluk was changed to HUZURABAD. As per census of 1901 the population in
jammikunta was 2681.In the past of 1901 A.D, Highest Temperature was recorded at karimnagar&jammikunta Taluks. In May it raises to 110 foreign heats.

Now it is a mandal head quarters of Jammikunta mandal. It is bounded on the north by Maner River, on the east by mogullapelli mandal of Warangal district, on the south by Huzurabad Mandal&Kamalapur Mandal and on the west by Veenavanka Mandal. It is serving
all the needs of 60 Villages near by.
